Men And Their Mothers

Men And Their Mothers
Henry here today and I’m about to say something you don’t expect me to say. There was a great detective story on the other day. Eddy Murphy was the good detective. He caught a thief with jewels and put him in jail. Then his girl was attacked by someone the thief had contracted with to kill her. The guy was killed trying to escape Murphy.

Then he proposed to his girl. He suggested that they go to Tahiti and “get naked”. She agreed, but was abducted by the thief now escaped from jail. Finally, after many heroics, Murphy puts the thief down permanently.

Finally he and his girl are lying on lounge chairs on a crowed beach in Tahiti. Presently, she leans over and mischievously suggests that they both get naked there and then. He is shocked and refuses. She reminds him of his promise. He says that he is prepared to do that in their room. She again reminds him and calls him chicken, this after he has shown the height of heroism and courage. His reply to her is a surprise. It illustrates the fact that for men their relationship to woman is directly connected to their relationship to their mother.

He says something like: “but what if my mother found out?”

“How could she find out” is the reply.

“Well if one of her friends is here and sees me and goes home and tells her, that’s how.”

Even though the woman is young and beautiful, the connection to her is blocked by mother. Of course a man’s relationship to mother affects his relationship to his lover. But my point is that it can be good, which is great, or it can dampen down the relationship, so that very little if anything happens.

I bet you didn’t expect me to say that!
