A Last Thought On Christmas

Henry here, with one last thought about Christmas. I know that Christmas is over, but I just can’t help myself, but I romise it’ll be worth reading, a little thought for the new year.
When Christianity began in that stable in Bethlehem life for people was full of mystery, suspicion and terrors. Around any corner might lurk a malevolent force.
People had no faxes, telephones, computers, iPods or social security net. They only had themselves and their religion to help them reduce the mystery.
People then knew that the Divine was active in all of life. It was no mystery that God could break into individual lives through dreams, visions, angels or a birth. The story of Christmas is a story of such experiences.
We have similar experiences today, but because of the decrease of the influence of religion, we seldom realize that what we experience is the same as the early Christians. The Divine is as present in our lives as in their lives. All we have to do is listen.
