Vancouver’s Week On The Edge

Snow Vancouver
Greetings all and Happy New Years! Steve talkin’ at ya, I’ll be your content provider today. One of the biggest stories of the year in Canada was when Vancouver got some snow. Now this may not sound like a big deal to you. In fact, it didn’t sound like a big deal to Meghan and I, living now on the Wet Coast, in Vancouver. We’re used to getting snow, no big deal. A foot of snow crippled Vancouver, but we’re used to having a foot of snow in the living room. Meg and I thought it was terribly pretty. Everyone else treated it like a full-scale civil emergency. Upon hearing the weather forcast, many people immediately ducked and covered. Here’s how the week broke down.

Day 1- Snow begins to fall. Meghan and Steve decide to go for a walk later on, because it is so pretty out. Thinking quickly, many Vancouverites drive into things.

Day 2- Snow has fallen. Meg and Steve go outside to take pictures of snow on the palm trees. Most native Vancouverites started looking for their hari-kari knives.

Day 3- Latte supplies are beginning to run critically short. Starbucks arranges with the U.S. third airborn division to emergency air-drop organic coffee beans and low-fat brownies into Stanley Park. Those who have Winter boots cram churches and synagogues. Meg and Steve build a snowman.

Day 4- The mayor comes on t.v. and makes an impassioned plea for calm, reminding people not to resort to cannibalism until they are advised to by the authorities. The mayor explains that plans are being formulated to evacuate the whole city to Mexico. Meg and Steve sleep in and make some bacon.

Day 5- The mayor broken-heartedly announces that evacuation plans have failed and advises an orderly mercy-killing of the women and children, while the men revert to a half-man, half-wolf state. He says that cannibalism is still frowned on by most major religions, but that it might not be a bad idea. Meg and Steve put up holiday decorations and sing Christmas carols.

Day 6- Snow melts. The city rejoices. Meg and Steve really miss the snow, because it was very pretty.

Well, there you are, a blow-by-blow account of Vancouver’s week on the edge. Hug your loved ones. Until next time, keep watching the skiiiiiiies……
