Kramer Acted Like A Tool, But…
Steve here. I’ve been thinking. Clearly Michael Richards is out to lunch. Clearly he has some issues. It sounds like he’s a racist, though he claims he isn’t. Fair enough, I can’t read his mind and likely wouldn’t want to in any event. But regardless of his apparent racism and anger issues, he may have broken new ground with making excuses. Admit to something bad to avoid responsibility for something worse. Richards said that his racist outburst was motivated by anger, not by racism. Hmm, I wonder if that approach could work for the rest of us?
“I’m sorry, honey. I did forget your birthday, but that was due to rampant stupidity, not malice.”
“Did I wash all of your white underwear with my red sweater? Indeed I did, but that was fundamentally about temporary colour blindness, not because I just didn’t care.”
“Did we find any weapons of mass destruction? In fact we did not, but we went there for the ambiance.”
