Rain Can Make You A Little Crazy

Greetings folks, Steve here. Well, it’s been raining for 100 years in Vancouver. Actually, it’s technically only been raining for a month, but with four months left to go in the Winter, it seems like it’s been at least 100 years. A friend of mine warned me before Winter in Canada looked like this:

Halifax - Shovel, shovel, shovel.
Montreal - Shovel, shovel, shovel.
Toronto - Shovel, shovel, shovel.
Calgary - Shovel, shovel, shovel.
Vancouver - Sit in the basement and polish your gun.

Yes, the lack of sunlight can kind of get to you after a while, but lately we’ve had an even bigger problem. We had so much rain that it caused mudslides into the water reservoirs and all of a sudden we had no water to drink. I’m sure there’s some irony about the fact that having so much water falling from the sky that we have none to drink, but I just can’t put my finger on it.

For someone trying to survive their first Vancouver Winter, this is disturbing. Things are already starting to get bad and you can tell it from the attitude of the t.v. weather-person. Usually the t.v. weather-person, I’ll call him Bob, is cheerful and perky and just loves talking about the weather and you know something serious is going on when they cease their obnoxious cheerfullness. I usually only worry if they’re talking about a hurricane or some kind of weather disaster, but it’s a bad sign when the weather-person in Vancouver starts to loose his composure due to lack of sunlight.

And now, let’s go to Bob Shleemly, our cheerful weather-person, to give us an update on what’s going on with the rain situation. Bob, is the rain going to stop and the water become drinkable again soon?

Oh God! Make it stop, make it go away. I remember the sun, I remember FULL SPUCTRUM LIGHT!! Why won’t you let me see the sun!!!??

Sorry folks, Bob’s having some tecnical difficulties there, but we’ll get back to him soon. Now, over to sports!

It’s gonna be a long Winter.
