An Interesting Idea For Thanksgiving
Greetings all, Steve here, and happy Thanksgiving to our American friends. Canadian Thanksgiving is quite a bit earlier than American Thanksgiving, of course. It’s part of our extensive plot to gradually undermine American culture until the entire country collapses. Don’t worry. You’ll know if when it happens.
I got an interesting email a day or two ago and as it had to do with Thanksgiving, I wanted to share it with everyone. It was from the Save Darfur Coalition. If you don’t know, long story short, Darfur is experiencing the first genocide of the new millenium, which is not a distinction anybody would like. Much like Rwanda a little over 10 years ago, the people of Darfur are being subjected to a campaign of extreme violence, starvation, rape and murder. The raw data is that 400,000 people have been killed and 2.5 displaced. The world has responded, but with an under-funded, under-supported force which is struggling to keep order and bring aid to the survivors.
On Thanksgiving, there is something very simple that you can do to help. You can take the opportunity to educate your friends and family who are gathered together for Thanksgiving and get them to sign a petition which you can send to the Powers That Be. An even easier way to help is to get your guests to click here and send a letter yourself demanding that this situation be brought under control immediately.
