Shadow and Testosterone

Henry here. Maybe our dark side, as seen in our shadow, can be blamed on testosterone. Maybe it’s like the comedian said, “The devil made me do it.” Or, in we males, maybe testosterone?
Perhaps it is this hormone that sets us up to act out our aggressive fantasies. Maybe underneath we are the sweet, kind, loving, accepting, and forgiving people we tend to think we are. It’s just that wretched testosterone which plays Hell with our social environment. Clearly this hormone is incredibly powerful, as seen in a story in June 10th Daily News, which quotes a story, by The Associated press out of West Milford, N.J.:
A black bear picked the wrong New Jersey yard for a jaunt earlier this week, running into a territorial tabby who ran the furry beast up a tree-twice. Jack, a seven Kilogram orange-and-white cat, keeps a close watch on his property. (A neighbor) first thought Jack was simply looking up at the bear, but soon realized the much larger animal was afraid of the hissing cat. After ten minutes of peering down at the cat the bear descended and tried to run, but Jack chased it up another tree.
There you have it. Perhaps our psychological shadow is primarily just an overdose of testosterone. Perhaps, like Jack, we have too much for our own good. Something to think about.
