Beating A Dead Horse To Death
Henry here. According to a radio report I heard, the Ottawa press gallery is calling Stephen Harper, the new Prime Minister of Canada, “Shrub” because he functions like a junior Bush.
Very cutting, but I am not sure he will pay much attention as he, apparently, is ignoring the Ottawa press as much as he can. Why are they calling him that? They are doing so because he is following so much in W’s footsteps.
According to the Globe and Mail his latest action is to try to make gay marriage illegal again. “MPs will vote on the contentious issue of same-sex marriage after Parliament returns from its summer break, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said yesterday.”
If Harper does this, it will be a typical action of whipping a dead horse. Same sex marriage has been legal in Canada for months now and thousands of same- sex couples have been legally married. What possesses the man to be so driven by ideology to want to reverse history? What is wrong with same-sex marriage? It seems to me that the gospel that Jesus preached was about love, not judging our neighbors.
