My dream girl
The mystery between the sexes is endless. Take, for example, a little experiment. If we take ten men and show them pictures of ten different woman, ask them what they think their names are and what their personalities are like we will get an immense variety of responses.
They all see the same pictures of the same woman, but their reading of their personalities is very different. Many will be unsure about some of the woman but quite definite about another. They may be able to tell you what kind of car she drives, what kind of pet she has, where she lives, and what her education, tastes in music, reading, housing, desire for family, and level of personal warmth are.
How can they do that? How can they be so definite? They are able to arrive at such a detailed description of the woman because it is all based on projection. That is to say that it all originates in the head of the viewer.
It doesn’t seem possible but this process of projection is what many relationships are based on. We think that we know what someone is like, we think we know what their interests are, and their tastes in many things and often we hardly know them from Adam or Eve.
It seems unbelievable, but I have talked to too many people married 20-30+ years who are still living in the fantasy that they know the other person. In fact, often one partner gets fed up with the false perception and decides to leave. They separate still not knowing what went wrong or what they could have done differently.
There is no magical answer that unravels this confusion but our site when we put it up will attempt to help increase mutual understanding and self awareness.
